Story

For many years, Little League Baseball has been closely associated with College Station, Texas. Rapid population growth challenged the Parks and Recreation Department’s (PARD) scheduling of Little League Baseball games. Funded by bond elections, the construction of Wayne Smith Little Park gave PARD an additional resource, opening in spring 1998.

The project includes three regulation Little League Baseball fields with player dugouts, bleacher seating, lighting, electric scoreboards, batting cages, and an amenities building featuring concessions, public restrooms, and an umpire locker room with equipment storage.
